Trans-en-Provence

It's a charming village in Var department, located between Draguignan and Les Arc-sur-Argens.

It owes its picturesque little canyons to the river La Nartuby. All these waterfalls and inlets are easily accessible from a special path.

In the past more than 20 olive mills operated on the banks of the river. One, which keeps now a mediateque, retains its original mechanism.

Trans-en-Provence is famous among the ufologists thanks to the story called  "Trans-en-Provence Case". In 1981 a local farmer believed to have seen a saucer-shaped object, which left burn marks on the ground where it had sat. Some analysis showed that the ground had been compressed by a mechanical pressure of about 4 or 5 tons, and heated to between 300° and 600° C.

Unique air well or aerial well is a structure that collects water by promoting the condensation of moisture from air. The "tower" was designed by Belgian engineer Achile Knapen.
